The church in Boma continues to provide encouragement to the local community.
|
As we look forward to our 10th anniversary in Boma, one thing remains clear: THE hope for the people in South Sudan is Jesus Christ. We often ask for your prayers and support to provide food for children, clean water for the community and materials to construct new buildings. All of these items are very important and necessary, but they are only material things serving to provide us opportunities to share the hope we have in Christ Jesus. Your support of SEA Partners is having a “Gospel” impact on the Murle community in Boma, South Sudan.
Our Vision for 2015
Damaged wall in one of our classrooms.

During his stay in the US, Henry Okumu stated the need to accomplish three initiatives in the first 6 months of 2015.
- Last year’s fighting in and around our school resulted in extensive damage requiring repairs to classroom walls and roofs as well replacement of all doors and windows. Henry’s research concluded that the total cost of these repairs will be about $27,000. Repaired classrooms will provide students and teachers with security, privacy and shelter from the wind and rain.
-
During the conflict of 2013, our storage container was used as a holding cell for prisoners.
The metal container we use to securely store our supplies is in need of repair. A properly sealed container is critical in order to keep food for our students safe from rats and insects. The cost to repair the container is $4,712.
- We are woefully short of usable desks. Currently, most students are forced to sit on the floor or stand during classes. We need 60 new desks and the cost to purchase the timber and have them built in Boma is $6,489.
Desks are needed to improve the learning environment for students. |
