Stewarding the Tractors
Advancing community development is at the core of SEA Partners’s mission. Poverty and hopelessness is rampant in Boma and all of South Sudan Creating an thriving and vibrant economy in Boma is critical to alleviating poverty.
After moving 5 tractors to Boma in 2019 and cultivating almost 100 acres of virgin land for the community, we intend to triple that output in 2020. With your help we can truly improve the food security in Boma by taking an additional 14 tractors to Boma. As God is leading you, please give a gift to move these tractors to Boma.
History of Farming for Peace
In August 2018, Governor David Yauyau (seen above with SEA Partners President Donnie Brake) has provided 20 new tractors for SEA Partners to use in the development of our Farming for Peace project in Boma.
These tractors have been sitting in Juba, South Sudan since 2015 and have need of some repairs and maintenance prior to their use. Additionally, the Governor asked that we also transport them to Boma so that they can be used by SEA Partners and other partners in South Sudan.
In November 2018, Eric and Rebekah Schwanke from Oregon repaired all 20 tractors. Praise the Lord! Eric is a skilled tractor mechanic and farmer and now is headed to Boma to train the local villagers how to use the tractors in large-scale farming.
If we are going to Lay the Foundation for the future of the people in and around Boma, we must continue providing them the resources they need. Fuel, tractor supplies and seeds are still a huge need!
Would you please consider a gift to help us keep this progress going.
