New Partnerships in Kenya Supporting Missions in South Sudan

Developing new partnerships is critical to the continued mission of SEA Partners and provides a foundation of support, encouragement, and the exchange of new ideas. Zack Wangi, Pastor of City of Light Fellowship, was the Project Coordinator in Boma, South Sudan in 2011 and Team Leader.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 (NIV)

pastor-zack-wangiFollowing the God’s leading from James 1:27, Pastor Wangi encouraged his new church to support SEA Partners in their mission to train and educate children through a Christian worldview. His sermon series is focused on missions and Pastor Wangi has encouraged his congregation to come alongside SEA Partners to help the children. As he relayed his story to us we are so blessed to have the financial support of an Kenyan church that desires to help the people on it own continent. Praise the Lord for Pastor Wangi and the congregation at City of Light Fellowship.

My Memories of Pastor Zack

I met Zack a couple of times in Boma and I remember two things about him. First, he was a man of prayer. He was often the first person up in the morning, praying out loud for the people of Boma and SEA Partners. The staff would join him in the mornings lifting their voices to the Lord. Just thinking back on those times is inspiring to me.

Secondly, I remember his soft spoken nature and his calm demeanor. Even when challenges arose, Zack was calm and thoughtful in his responses to difficulties. He trusted God for wisdom and sincerely believed Romans 8:28. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.” (NIV)

It is truly a blessing for me to have renewed our relationship and to see what God is doing through Pastor Wangi in Nairobi, Kenya. His continued support for the ministry in Boma will have long lasting and eternal impact for Christ. May God bless City of Light Fellowship as they serve the Lord.

In His service,

Donnie Brake, Ed.D.
