Our new program, Farming in Omiling is possibly one of the most important programs in this area. Last week the women of Omiling (Ofrika tribe) began a new farming project on the 100 acres recently given us by the community. Nawaz Khan, a friend of SEA Partners in Nairobi, donated some special corn seed for this project. This seed will not only produce a good crop of corn but will also be excellent for replanting. It is our hope a majority of this first crop can be harvested for seed which can be planted for a much larger harvest for both food and seed next year.
This farming project is an extension of our new Women’s Program in Omiling that includes Bible study, worship and a nutritious meal. The farming component is designed to help the women produce more food for their families while increasing the health and welfare of the community.
Thank you so much for your support. Please pray for these women as they invest both time and energy to bless their community. Pray also that the seeds of the Gospel will continue to take root bringing new life to the people of Omiling and beyond.
May God bless you for your kindness and generosity.
