Education is a Lifeline in South Sudan — And Right Now, We Need Your Help! In a country where over 75% of the population is illiterate, education isn’t just important — it’s urgent. That’s why SEA Partners is committed to sponsoring and teaching more than 800 students across South Sudan. But today, I want to share a specific and urgent need from Faith Learning Center in Omiling. Just three years ago, this school started with only 12 students. Today, 326 eager young minds fill the classrooms — but they have no desks. As you can see in the photo above, the children are doing their best to learn without a proper place to sit or write. Yesterday, I received a message from our Director in Juba, Vincent Owino, asking for immediate help. Pastor Sam, our Project Director in Omiling, estimates we need only $1,800 to build desks for the entire school. His plan? Use locally harvested trees and build the desks ourselves — just like we did for the church benches (see photo below). It’s resourceful, cost-effective, and it empowers the local community. Will you help us give these students the basic tools they need to learn? Every gift — no matter the size — will go directly to building desks for Faith Learning Center.
