WELLS OF JOY

Changing Lives Through Education

Wells of Joy exists to glorify God in the service of the families of the Lunga Lunga slums in Nairobi, Kenya. Our primary means of service is to provide a Christ-centered, high-quality education for children aged infant to 8th grade. We aim to offer a safe environment where these children can be fed, educated, discipled, and given the tools to escape the perils of their surroundings.

Our Mission

At Wells of Joy, we seek to address the spiritual and educational needs of the community by using our facility as a church and a school. Our mission is to:

See Christ glorified through His people
Humanize the dehumanized by offering love, hope, and care
Offer Spiritual and humanitarian assistance as we share the love of Christ in His service

Ministering to people who live in the slum is unlike any other ministry. Life in the slum is a daily struggle with utter poverty and its degrading and dehumanizing impact. Because the most basic needs for life are so scarce many parents struggle to provide for their families while sheltering them from the negative influences surrounding them.

We believe lives can be changed by offering hope, support, and encouragement through education.

Our Ministry Serves Over 300 Children And Their Families:

    Christian education
Two daily meals (during the week)
Access to clean water and toilets
    Discipleship
    Hope for the future

We believe that the children of the Lunga Lunga slums deserve the tools and resources needed to develop their full potential. This will enable them to grow in hope and confidence, empowering them to positively impact their families and community.

This is critical not just for the slums of Nairobi, but for the entire country of Kenya. The overwhelming lack of quality education is having a devastating impact on children and communities across the country.

    Kenyan Education Crisis:

1.7 million school-age children do not attend school due to poverty
Most schools don’t have electricity or running water
Teachers spend on average 2 hours per day on classroom instruction
Lack of quality education ruins the hope of a better future for the children of Kenya

You Can Make a Difference! Those who live in the slum are still God’s creation. They are good people who need to experience the love of God with a helping hand.

Will you partner with us and make a difference for these children?
